Three COVID patients died in Parsa and Bara in the past 24 hours.
Two persons undergoing treatment for COVID-19 died at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, while one patient died at Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan.
A man aged 60 was admitted to Narayani Hospital from Birgunj metropolis after he experienced health complications three days ago. He died at the hospital at 8:20am today, according to Hospital COVID Coordinator Dr Saroj Roshan Das.
After symptoms resembling COVID were seen in the man, his swab was collected.
He tested positive for the virus yesterday. He was admitted to the hospital after he experienced severe pneumonia and breathing difficulty.
Similarly, a youth-aged 37 from Jitpursimara sub-metropolis, Bara, died at Narayani Hospital this morning. He had tested positive for the virus on Sunday.
"He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital," said Dr Das. A man aged 55 died of COVID at Bharatpur Hospital yesterday. The man from Kalikamai Rural Municipality, Parsa, was admitted to the hospital four days ago. His body was buried by the Nepali Army in Parsa.
Parsa has recorded 56 COVID deaths so far and COVID cases are increasing in the district. Out of 95 people who underwent COVID test, 37 tested positive for the virus yesterday. Seven COVID patients are being treated at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, said Dr Das. A separate unit of 17 beds has been prepared for the treatment of COVID patients, said Dr Das.
