DHADING: Police in Dhading have impounded a truck loaded with smuggled timber. According to police, a joint team of Area Forest Office, Gajuri, and Area Police Office, Gajuri, impounded a truck with 89.17 cubic feet timber smuggled from Seureni Community Forest of Pida on Wednesday.

The timber meant to be taken to Gajuri for sale was seized with the help of locals. Meanwhile, Nepal Chepang Association Dhading Chairperson Tek Bahadur Chepang was also arrested with illegal timber.

After detaining him with the timber, locals had handed him over to the police. The smuggled timber has been handed over to the forest office.
