Timber worth millions of rupees was gutted due to wildfires at national and community forests in Udayapur in the past three weeks.

The wildfire that started three weeks ago has spread to more than 200 forests in the district by now. According to Division Forest Office Udayapur, wildfire has gutted timbers worth millions.

"The wildfire has gutted millions of cubic feet of timbers," said Jageswor Sah, information officer at the division forest office. Sah said the exact details of the wildfire had not come yet.

The wind has made it hard to bring the wildfire under control. "The wildfire has spread over more than 200 forests so far," said Sah. The fire has destroyed both big and budding trees. The wildfire has destroyed over 1,000 saal trees at Rajdevi Community Forest planted under President Chure Programme at Triyuga Municipality-6.
