Time to fulfil promises: Adhikari

Pokhara, December 10

CPN-UML leader Rabindra Adhikari, who was elected to the Parliament from Kaski Constituency-2, said his party would now face challenge of delivering on its poll promises.

Speaking at a corner meeting held after a victory rally of the left alliance, Adhikari thanked the voters who laid their trust on his party and the left alliance and further added, “It’s a good thing that the left alliance has got overwhelming votes. Now comes the challenge of fulfilling the election pledges and leading the country on the path of development.”

Further, saying the gains so far achieved have been institutionalised with the success of the election, Adhikari said the country’s development and prosperity was imperative. “Now that people have elected us, the party should focus on development of the country. Otherwise, people will lose faith in party politics,” he said.

Meanwhile, UML leader Khagaraj Adhikari, who was elected to the Parliament from Kaski-1, underscored the need for unity between alliance partners. “Unity between the alliance partners is an imperative if we have to drive the nation towards development and prosperity,” he said.

UML leader Jagat Bishwokarma, who was elected from Constituency-3, also described recent elections as a major step to institutionalising the federal democratic republic. “After the country got a constitution guaranteeing rights to all and sundry, polls have further institutionalised the gains so far achieved,” he said.
