Top security officials meet

Nepalgunj, January 11
A special meeting of high level security officials today decided to beef up security in Nepalgunj and adjoining areas during the civic felicitation of the king and queen.
Home secretary Ananta Raj Pandey, armed police chief Sahabir Thapa, police chief Shyam Bhakta Thapa and chief of National Investigation Department Devi Ram Sharma discussed security situation in the mid-west region.
Home secretary Pandey ordered security chiefs to beef up security. DIG Keshav Baral, army chief of Western Army Headquarters, DIG of the Armed Police Force, chief district officer of Banke, mayor and deputy mayor of Nepalgunj Municipality and chairman and vice-chairman of Banke DDC were also present at the meeting. Initial preparation for the felicitation of royal members have been completed, said the felicitation organising committee led by former chief justice Dhanendra Bahadur Singh. However, the date for the visit is yet to be made public.
