Tourist bus driver dies in accident at Kurintar

CHITWAN: A driver lost his life after the tourist bus that he was driving collided with a passenger bus head-on at Kurintar along the Prithvi Highway on Saturday evening.  As many as 18 others have been injured in the incident.

The Chitwan District Police Office identified the deceased as 40-year-old Rajan Sharma Khanal of Butwal.

The tourist bus was heading to Kathmandu while the other bus was coming from the opposite direction when they collided with each other at Niwatar of Darechok VDC.

It has been learned that the tourist bus was carrying back the students of Valley College of Technical Sciences in Sitapaila-2 in Kathmandu, who were on an educational tour in Pokhara.

The incident site is five kilometres away from Muglin.

Police said the injured have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
