Tourist village adopts preventive steps

Lamjung, October 28:

Local residents in Khasur, a tourist village in Lamjung district, have prohibited youths from the adjoining villages from playing deusi-bhailo during Tihar in their area.

Keeping in mind the possible chances of clashes among youths over the issue of deusi-bhailo, the ban was imposed, locals said. They also have urged the youths of the area not to go to other villages to play deusi-bhailo.

“When the youths of the adjoining villages had come to play deusi-bhailo in our village in the past years under the influence of alcohol, they spread panic,” said a local, Prithiviman Ghale. “Though it’s good to take part in such programmes during the festivals, nobody should try to hamper the peace and tranquillity.”
