Trade fair begins in Nepal-Tibet border area
MUSTANG: A trade fair has started on Monday in the border area of Nepal and Tibet, Chinese autonomous region.
The Tibetan traders have started the week-long trade fair some 11 kms far from the Nepal-Tibet border area.
It is said that Nepalis have thronged in the trade fair to buy clothing, furniture, cosmetics and other. The officials of Tibet have provided identity cards to Nepali visitors to ensure their entry for the certain period.
Earlier, Nepalis were not allowed to enter into the Tibetan land from the border.
Indra Dhara Bista, a local of Lho Monthang in Mustang, said that large-scale of business takes place in the week-long fair.
Unlike previous years, this time the Tibetan traders did not allow Nepalis to trade their produces, Bista said. Earlier, Nepalis used to trade Nepali produces including woolen items, potatoes and others.
