Traffic along Highway
Dipayal, July 23 :
Flood in the Dwari river caused by incessant rainfall since Saturday evening has disrupted
traffic along the Dipayal-Silgadhi sector of Dr KI Singh Highway.
Passengers headed for different destinations have been stranded.
Though passengers on the Dipayal side managed to have food, those across the river have
not been able to manage a good meal since morning today.
Shopkeepers on the Dipayal side have been supplying food items like biscuits and beaten rice by tying the packets in stones and throwing them to the other side of the river.
Mostly, people travelling to and from Sanphebagar and Mangalsen in Accham and Doti, Bajura, Bajhang, Humla and Mugu use the highway.
Though a construction company, with help from Korea, had constructed a concrete bridge over the river in 1992, flood waters swept it away after three months of its construction.
A bulldozer of the Road Division Office (Dipayal) today pulled out two buses that had been stuck in the river.
The Road Division Office has been making efforts to clear the highway with the help of the bulldozer. Heavy rains also disrupted the BP Nagar road today.
