Transition to republic hailed

New Delhi, June 12:

The committee formed to help establish democracy in Nepal has welcomed and supported the successful holding of the constituent assembly polls and implementation of republican agenda in Nepal. President of the committee and senior leftist leader Harikishan Singh Surjit, coordinator Sitaram Yechuri and general secretary DP Tripathi and representatives of the ruling parties, issuing a press release today, welcomed the declaration of Nepal as a federal democratic republic.

“We welcome the declaration of Nepal as a federal democratic republic. we believe that Nepal will now head to peace and normal life,” the press release said.

Speaking at the meeting, general secretary Tripathi said they were confident that the new government will be formed in Nepal soon.

Another senior leftist leader D Raja said that the development in Nepal was exemplary in the whole world.
