Transmission line to be built in Dordi corridor

Nepal Electricity Authority is all set to start construction of a 132 KV transmission line at Dordi Corridor in Lamjung.
Preparations for the same has elated hydel developers and investors, who were earlier worried due to uncertainty over the project.
NEA is preparing to construct 14 kilometre transmission line from Kirtipur to Udipur after monsoon is over. Various hydel projects are under-construction along the Dordi Corridor.
Ram Bahadur Pandey of Upper Dordi A Hydro Power Project said power generated from hydro power projects would be connected to the power grid once the transmission line was constructed. He was relieved that power produced would not be wasted.
The work to procure land for transmission line project and sub-station is under way.
Dordi Corridor Transmission line Project Chief Ramesh Poudel said, “The project must be completed within 18 months of contract agreement. Eleven months are left for the deadline to expire.”
Mudwari and Joshi Construction Private Limited was awarded the contract to build the transmission line at an estimated cost of Rs 600 million.
