Ward No 10 of Triyuga Municipality, Uadayapur, is mourning six persons who were killed in a truck–ambulance collision at Haripur of Koshi Rural Municipality along the East-West highway in Sunsari last Saturday.

Following the incident, education institutions, markets, government and non-government offices were closed. The ward office has also been shut down. Ward Chair Prakash Khadka said educational institutions, offices, ward office, among others, were closed following the accidental death of six persons from the same place.

At least six persons of Ghale Tole in Triyuga Municipality-10 died on the spot in the truck-ambulance collision at midnight on Saturday.

Six persons from Ghale Tole, including the ambulance driver, were killed on the spot. Police said the accident occurred while the ambulance was ferrying Shiva Maya Rai, 85, who died in the course of treatment at Biratnagar-based Golden Hospital, back home.
