JHAPA: A person died after a truck hit him along the East-West Highway road section at Lakhanpur VDC in Jhapa on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Tek Nath Bhattarai, 40, of the VDC.

Police said the commuter bus heading towards the east from the west hit the man while he was walking on the road.

Bhattarai died while being treated at the local health facility, police said.
