CHITWAN: A woman died after a truck hit her along East-West Highway road section in Khaireni Municipality, Chitwan on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Pabitra Bhattarai, 24, of Rapti Municipality, said police.

The accident occurred when the truck heading towards the east hit the woman while she was crossing the road in her scooty.

Bhattarai died on the way to Bharatpur for treatment, said police.

The truck and its driver were taken under control and further investigation into the accident is under way, said police.
