URLABARI: A woman died on the spot after being hit by a truck on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Jasu Tamang (37) of Damak-8, Jhapa.

Police said that the incident occurred while she was taking a morning walk at around 4.30 am today.

Bhupesh Rai (31) of Urlabari-3 was injured in the incident, police said. He is receiving treatment at the Araniko Hospital.

The truck (Ko 1 Kha 3570) heading towards Kakarvitta from Dharan hit them near the Mawa Bridge along the border of Morang and Jhapa districts.

Police said that they have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for investigation.
