KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed in an accident at Daunne of Nawalparasi district along the East-West Highway on Tuesday night.

The victims are Jayaram Paudel (34) of Kawasoti and Ashim Aalam (27) of India.

They were crushed to death on roadside by a truck that turned turtle after colliding with another truck on the highway at around 10 pm, according to local police.

The victims were reportedly repairing another truck, which went kaput, police said.

Driver of truck (Lu 1 Kha 4598) is absconding after the incident.
