Tribhuvan University has prohibited the pasting of posters and wall paintings as publicity in the run-up to the Free Students Union election scheduled to take place on March 19.
The FSU election code of conduct issued by TU forbids the placement of any sort of election-related banner, flex banners and posters in public areas, a ccording to TU Students Welfare and Sports Directorate Director Pashupati Adhikari.
Similarly, an election candidate is allowed to present the election manifesto and the candidate's name on A4 size paper and it has to be unicolour.
The campus election committee will provide a common forum for any union, panel or independent election candidate registered in the committee for an introductory programme and in the event, accusations and counter accusations are banned.
The use of mikes on the campus premises for the purpose of election publicity and any sort of strike over election issues have been prohibited.
