Jhapa: Two policemen were injured after they were attacked with a khukuri in Bhadrapur on Thursday.

They are: Dipak Rajbanshi and Nirajan Rajbanshi.

The incident occurred when the duo was home on leave to celebrate Holi when a local Dil Bahadur Rai attacked them with Khukuri under the influence of alcohol.

Rai is at large. Dipak is serving in Zonal Police Office, Bhadrapur; while Nirajan is serving in District Police Office, Panchthar.

DSP Bhim Bahadur Dahal said the cops received cuts in their heads and throats and are being treated at Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital.

They had reached Rai’s home to settle a dispute as he had beaten his wife under the influence of alcohol.
