RAJBIRAJ: A person died in a road accident while another died after consuming poisonous pesticide in Saptari district today.

According to Saptari District Police Office (DPO), Chaneshwar Joshi (20) of Hariharpur area in Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality-3 was fatally injured after falling from the motorcycle (Ba 26 Pa 6002) he was riding on, at Chandani Chok in Sitapur area in the rural municipality's ward no. 2 this morning.

Joshi who sustained critical injuries on his head and other parts of his body breathed his last during the course of treatment at Biratnagar-based Golden Hospital, the DPO informed.

In a separate incident, Durga Bahadur Basnet (47) of Saptakoshi Municipality-2, died after consuming unknown pesticide today.

Basnet who was in a critical condition after the consumption of poisonous chemical died during the course of treatment at a polyclinic in Phattepur in the district.

Meanwhile, investigation into the two separate incidents are underway, police said.
