Siraha, October 19

At least two persons died and another one was critically injured in separate accidents in Siraha yesterday.

A bike rider died and a pillion rider was critically injured after a motorbike they were riding on collided with a tractor along the East-West Highway road section at Gol Bazaar Municipality in Siraha

last night. The deceased has been identified as Durgesh Mukhiya, 17, of the municipality.

According to Gol Bazaar Area Police Office, Mukhiya died while being rushed to a Biratnagar-based health facility while the injured is receiving treatment at a Biratnagar-based hospital.

Police have arrested the tractor driver and are investigating the case. Police said the accident occurred while they were heading towards their maternal uncle’s house. Mukhiya’s Body was sent to Lahan-based Uma Prasad Memorial Hospital for post-mortem.

Similarly, a girl child died after she drowned in a pond at Nagahara Rural Municipality in Siraha yesterday. The deceased is Radha Kumari Sah, 15, of the rural municipality.
