Police arrested two persons for abducting a garage operator of Triyuga Municipality in Udayapur on Monday evening.

A police team deployed from Udayapur District Police Office, arrested Keshab Chaudhary, 72, and Dinesh Safi, 35, of Lahan Municipality, Siraha for their involvement in the kidnapping Mohammad Munna Rayan, 40, of Lahan.

They were arrested from the Kadmaha-Gaighat road section, Lalpatta, at around 7:30pm yesterday.

Rayan has been operating the garage for the past few years. Police also took a Scorpio van with Indian number plate under control.

The vehicle was used in the kidnapping. SP Nar Bahadur Khatri of DPO said four persons were involved in the case and police are searching for two others.

SP Khatri quoted the victim as saying that some unknown persons had forcibly kept him in the van saying they wanted to talk to him.

The garage staff had informed police after Rayan was forced into the van. SP Khatri said a police team was deployed as soon as he was informed about the incident. Police investigation showed that Rayan might have been kidnapped over a financial dispute.

Police said Rayan used to operate a garage with a partner in Bhedari before he shifted to Triyuga. The kidnappers had abducted Rayan as he had not paid off his partner.
