Two held with hashish being couriered to Canada from TIA

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police personnel arrested two persons in possession of 9.3 kg hashish from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Monday evening.

The contraband was meticulously concealed in various items for home decoration being couriered to Canada. The items had been packed in cartoons with woolen yarn.

The suspects have been identified as 45-year-old Shukadev Yadav of Saptari and 34-year-old Meen Bhujel of Dhanusha. Both of them are currently residing in Kathmandu.

Police said the contraband was being sent through DHL Courier and was supposed board a Fly Dubai flight yesterday evening.

Police detected the contraband at the Hold Baggage Checking Area of TIA and susbequently arrested the two.

They have been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation and action.
