Two hurt in Birgunj blasts

BIRGUNJ: Two street vendors were injured when two bombs went off at Ghantaghar Chowk in Birgunj-12 at 6:25 pm on Sunday. Fifteen-year-old Jamshed Ansari of Khalwatola, Sirsiya, Parsa, and 22-year Rajesh Shah of Motihari, India, sustained injuries in the twin explosions which occurred within the interval of 10 seconds, near the statue of the Tarai Congress founding leader late Ramjanam Choudhari. Eyewitnesses said the bombs exploded right after an unidentified person threw an object

during the peak hours of load-shedding. Ansari sustained hand injuries, while Shah was hit on his thigh. According to Parsa CDO Yadav Prasad Koirala, both the injured are undergoing treatment at the Narayani sub-regional hospital. According to eyewitnesses, Ansari was helping his guardian at a vegetable shop while Shah was selling peanuts. Police have launched a search operation after the incident.
