Two Indian nationals arrested with 235 kg hashish from Gajuri

DHADING: Dhading police have arrested two Indian nationals for possessing 235 kilograms of hashish from Gajuri of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway on Thursday morning. The drugs were being ferried to India.

Police have identified the arrestees as Satendra Singh Beghal (30) of Ekanighauli Tikapurgram and Mohammed Gaddi (50) of Patewa Sugauli, both in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Acting on a special tip, a joint team of personnel from Dhading District Police Office, Gajuri Area Police Office and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Kathmandu arrested the duo while they were transporting the drugs loaded in a container truck (HR 3 SS 9371) from Kathmandu to India.

According to NCB, their team from Kathmandu had been following the truck before nabbing them in Gajuri Bazaar.

This is the largest quantity of drugs confiscated this year, police informed. Gajuri Area Police Office has detained the duo and impounded the truck.

Meanwhile, police have taken initiatives to destroy cannabis before its harvest and spread public awareness, despite which transportation of illegal drugs have not reduced.
