BAITADI: Two persons were killed and 10 others injured, five of them critically, in a jeep accident in Baitadi on Thursday evening.

The passenger jeep was heading to Giremada from Dehimadau when it met with the fatal accident at Gallek of the district in far-western Nepal

The victims have been identified as Taradatta Joshi of Gallek and Rekha Bhatta of Dasharath Chand Municipaity.

Critically injured in the incident, they were taken to the Baitadi District Hospital for treatment. But their life could not be saved.

Five of the injured are said to be in a critical condition. They were rushed to Pithauragarh of neighbouring India for further treatment, while five others are admitted to the Baitadi District Hospital, according to police.

The jeep driver, identified as Gopal Joshi, is at large after the incident.
