Two killed, four missing as landslide, flood batter Lamjung
LAMJUNG: Multiple landslides and flood triggered by incessant rainfall since Tuesday have claimed two lives while four others have gone missing in various areas across Lamjung district.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Abhirupa Thapa and her grandson 10-year-old Sirak Thapa of Marshyangdi Rural Municipality, according to Chief District Officer Jhanka Nath Dhakal.
Likewise, two people have gone missing in a landslide which occurred in the rural municipality.
Deputy Chief of the rural municipality Hom Bahadur BK informed that local Lalit Maya Gurung and an unidentified person were swept by a landslide which also engulfed a house while injuring three others.
Similarly, flash flood in Dordi River swept Baliram Chaudary (28) and Laxman Tharu (22), both workers at the under-construction Dordi Hydropower Project in Besisahar, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal.
Moreover, dozens of livestock were also brushed by the flash flood.
