Two killed in Pokhara road accident

KASKI: Two persons have lost their lives in a traffic collision involving a jeep and a two-wheeler at Sundari Bazaar of Pokhara Metropolitan City-26, in Kaski district, this morning.

The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Himal Gurung, 25, and pillion rider Raksha Gurung, 23, of Adarsha Chok in Pokhara-27, chief at District Traffic Police Office, Kaski, Police Inspector Murari Mishra said.

The bolero jeep (Ga 2 Cha 9950) en route to Bijayapur from Talchok and the scooter (Ga 15 Pa 4380) coming from the opposite direction collided head-on, leaving the travellers on the two-wheeler severely injured.

Though the two were rushed to the Western Regional Hospital under the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Following the accident, police have arrested the jeep driver.
