CHITWAN: Two persons were killed in two separate motorcycle accidents that occurred in Chitwan last night.

A person died and another sustained critical injuries when a motorcycle they were riding on fell on the road at Birendrachok in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-14 of  Chitwan district, on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as the motorcyclist Balaram Bhandari (48) and the injured as his wife Padma bhandari (45), the residents of Bhimsennagar.

The motorcycle (Na 42 Pa 281) heading towards east from Geetanagar, suddenly went out of control and fell on the road, injuring the riders.

The duo were rushed to the Chitwan Medical College where the motorcyclist breathed his last during the course of treatment at around 11:00 pm while his spouse has been undergoing treatment, said police.

Similarly, a person was killed and another was injured when a motorcycle hit two persons in Ratnanagar Municipality-6 in the district.

The deceased has been identified as Sabitri Chaudhary (45) and injured as Rajendra Chaudhary (36), both the local residents.

The motorcycle (Na 42 Pa 4031) heading towards Tandi from Sauraha knocked the duo at Bachhauli, at around 9:10 pm yesterday, according to police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the motorcycle and detained its rider for further investigation, into the case, said police.
