Two rural municipalities in Makawanpur have got no banking facilities yet.

These two rural municipalities have no bank or financial institution even though the government had said it would provide banking facilities in all rural municipalities of the country right after the formation of local bodies. Banks have been set up at only six of the eight rural municipalites. Kailash and Raksirang rural municipalities have yet to get banks. Banks have failed to reach Kailash RM for want of internet while local administration failed to provide security to banks in Raksirang Rural Municipality.

Kailash Rural Municipality Chair Tanka Moktan said lack of banks had affected everyday work at rural municipality.  Moktan said efforts were under way to connect internet and search appropriate building for bank in the rural municipality.
