Two Parbat VDCs to glow soon

Baglung, March 28:

The residents of Pangrang and Kurgha village development committees of Parbat district will soon have electricity.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), as per its 50 per cent programme, has already invested Rs five lakh for the project in 2004, locals said.

The projected cost for the extension of electricity lines from Luwa river to Pangrang VDC is around Rs 5.7 million.

According to the government’s 20/80 programme, the locals have collected their share of Rs 1,126,256, around 20 per cent of the total cost.

A tender for the project has also been called.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has assured the locals of distribution of all electricity lines by this year, Karna Bahadur Sunar, secretary of Siddhakali Electrification Consumer Committee, said.

After electrification of the two village development committees, 567 families will be directly benefited. The locals have also urged all parties to not to disrupt the electrification process. After community electrification, electricity will be cheaper, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) workers said.
