Two passenger buses impounded for transporting 9,000 lt diesel to Capital

RAUTAHAT: Two passenger buses were impounded, for carrying 9,000 litres of diesel, by police from Chandranigahapur of Rautahat district on Thursday.

The police had seized 9,000 litres of diesel from two Kathmandu-bound night buses, which had 10 passengers in each.

Both of the buses had left Kakadbhitta of Jhapa for the Capital.

According to police, they have seized 5,000 litres of the fuel from a bus of Agni Yatayat (Na 3 Kha 7526). Police said the driver was paid Rs 190,000 to bring the fuel to the destination.

However, Chandra Tamang, a bus passenger, informed that the petro product was carried for individual purpose, but not for business.

Similarly, another bus (Na 4 Kha 8119) belonging to the Panas Deluxe had carried 4,000 litres of diesel.

According to DSP Manoj Yadav of Area Police Office Chandranigahapur, they have seized the buses on the basis of information about illegal transportation of fuel by the passenger buses.

The investigation regarding the case is on, informed police.
