Two rape cases have been reported in two weeks in Debahigonahi Municipality, Rautahat.
Rakesh Raut Kurmi, 40, of the municipality raped a thirty-year-old woman while she was asleep in her house in the same municipality.
The victim said that the accused had raped her by threatening her with a sharp weapon on July 15 midnight. She said that she had no option but to let him rape her as any attempt to call the neighbour would put her life at risk.
The woman said that the accused rapist escaped from the scene when the woman shouted for help.
The accused threatened to kill all her family members if she disclosed the incident to anybody. It is said that the accused had escaped from the scene after the woman shouted.
Police said they are searching for the accused. Police said the woman's health check-up was carried out in District Hospital, Gaur, yesterday.
DSP Shreeram Bhandari at Area Police Office, Garuda, said that the police team had been searching for the absconding accused rapist and he would be arrested soon.
Earlier, Nageshwor Kushwaha, 50, had raped a 27-year old woman of the same municipality on July 7. Police arrested Kushwaha accusing him of raping the married Dalit woman.
