RAUTAHAT: Two minors have been raped in Rautahat district recently while the 16-day activism against gender-based violence across the world was on.

A four-year-old girl of Kanakpur VDC was raped by one Ramlal Das (15) of the same VDC-2 few days ago.

Local people had caught Das on the spot as the minor was crying in the pain. Then, people had handed him over to police.

Police said the teenage boy confessed that he had committed the crime while trying to "imitate some porn movies."

The minor was undergoing treatment at the Garuda-based Health Land Hospital.

Narahari Baral, Chief District Officer of the district, meanwhile, donated Rs 5,000 to the minor's family as well vowed to take strong action against the culprits.

Likewise, a mentally retarded girl of Laxmipur Belbichuwa VDC has been the prey of gang rape recently.

According to the Rautahat District Police Office (DPO), two men of the neighbourhood had raped her while there was no one in her home.

The DPO arrested Sunil Thakur and Ram Shankar Sah of Laxmipur Belbichuwa VDC-1 for their alleged involvement in the offence.
