Two Saptari women thrashed mercilessly

Two women were beaten black and blue in different places of Saptari district.
The victims have been identified as Ranju Devi Sah, 25, of Bode Barsain Municipality and Prem Kala Thakur, 19, of Rajbiraj Municipality. The duo has been receiving treatment in Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, Rajbiraj, for the past four days.
According to victim Sah, her neighbour, Jamun Yadav and Gokul Yadav had brutally beaten her for allegedly casting a spell on their buffalo on Thursday. The Yadav brothers beat her after their buffalo stopped giving milk.
She had informed police about the incident. SI Binod Chaudhary at Area Police Office, Bode Barsain, said police were investigating the case and action would be taken against the accused.
Similarly, Prem Kala Thakur said her father-in law and her husband had beaten her after she requested them to help her get citizenship certificate and marriage registration made last Saturday. She has received bruises on her chest, back, hands, feet and stomach, among other body parts.
