GAIGHAT, UDAYAPUR: The Udayapur District court on Sunday sentenced two persons in two separate cases of rape involving two monors.

The district court sentenced Dik Bahadur Pathak (55) of Lafagaun-5, in the district, with 10-year imprisonment and Rs 50,000 in fine for raping a girl.

Similarly, Bol Man Rai (23) of Mainamaini-9 was sentenced to eight years in prison along with a penalty of Rs 15,000.

A single bench of Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki issued the sentence on Pathak, the Court Registrar Rit Bahadur Magar shared.

Rai was handed out the sentence by a single bench of Judge Raj Kumar Koirala, according to the court.

Pathak has been convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in his neighbourhood on July 30 while Rai was convicted of raping a nine-year-old girl on January 6.
