Two youth held with contrabands from Birgunj

BIRGUNJ: Police arrested two youth in possession of contrabands from Birgunj on Friday.

Armed Police Force and the Customs Security Squad along with Birgunj police arrested Ram Yadav (18) and Pramod Yadav (16) of Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City in Parsa during a checking.

Police confiscated 300 ampoules of nuphorin, diazepam and phenergan each from the Yadav duo while they were travelling to Birgunj from Raxaul.

They have been handed over to the Parsa District Police Office for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Parsa police arrested Pradip Sah Sonar of Chhapkaiya in Birgunj in possession of 153 silver jewellery boxes on Friday.

According to Superintendent Govind Kumar Sah of the Parsa District Police Office, Sonar was carrying the boxes weighing 5.615 kg under his motorcycle (Na 33 Pa 3362) seat.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Sonar from Rajat Jayanti Chok in possession of the silver while trying to illegally import it from India.

Sonar has been handed over to theĀ Department of Revenue InvestigationĀ in Birgunj along with the confiscated goods and the motorcycle for further investigation.
