Udayapur ambush victims airlifted to Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu

KATARI: Two persons who were seriously injured in an ambush explosion in Udayapur this morning have been airlifted and admitted to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Nepali Congress candidate for the House of Representatives from Udayapur-2 Narayan Karki and Nepal Student Union District Chairperson Meera Katuwal were seriously injured in an ambush attack carried out by an unidentified group.

NC Udayapur leader Lavaraj Adhikari said that the vehicle ferrying leaders was ambushed this morning. The vehicle (Ba 15 Cha 7806) was ambushed along Nepaltar-Katari road section in the district.

It has been learned that NC leader Karki's fingers have been cut-off in the explosion and sustain deep wounds in his face and foot.

Similarly, NSU President Meera Karki's leg have been amputated by the incident.

Meanwhile, the two other who sustained minor incidents have been receiving treatment at the local hospitals.
