RAJBIRAJ: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cadres last night torched a bus for defying the general strike in front of the industrial corridor in Rajbiraj.

The bus (Ma 5 Kha 6713), heading towards Rajbiraj from Rupani, was completely burnt in the incident, District Police Office, Saptari said.

The UDMF has called an indefinite strike in Saptari to protest the death of its cadres in Monday's police firing.

The UDMF cadres and police clashed on Monday when the former were trying to disrupt the Mechi – Mahakali campaign of the CPN-UML at the Gajendranarayan Singh Industrial Corridor.

Normal life has been disrupted on the fourth consecutive day of the indefinite strike. Educational institutes, factories, marketplaces and transportation have been shut.
