KATHMANDU: The central committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML, which began at party headquarters in Balkhu on Tuesday, could not finalise the names of party leaders to be inducted in the coalition government, after it failed to finalise the issue of intra-party work division.

"The work division of central members is likely to be finalised tomorrow. After that the meeting will decide the names of leaders to represent the party in the government," the UML leaders said after the meeting. The UML leaders have requested the party leadership not to assign any responsibility to leaders who will lead the party in the government. The meeting has been put off until tomorrow.The meeting formed a seven-member task force, headed by general secretary Ishwor Pokharel, to resolve the dispute over proposed 13 divisions in the party. The task force has been mandated to find a way to forge consensus on the issue by 1 pm tomorrow. During today's meeting, Pokharel proposed the formation of 13 different divisions in the party.

Party president Jhalanath Khanal today presented the party's annual action plan, which states forming national representative council of the party and holding assemblies of party's district committees by six months.
