UML clinch Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Saptakoshi Municipality

RAJBIRAJ: CPN-UML candidates have been elected as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Saptakoshi Municipality in Saptari district.

UML Mayor candidate Uttam kumar Sharma bagged 3039 votes to his closest rival from CPN-Maoist Centre Dhruba Karki garnered 1883 votes.

Similarly, UML candidate Asha Chaudhary was elected as deputy mayor as she received 3227 votes to her closest rival CPN-Maoist Centre's Raj Kumari Chaudhary 2193 votes.

Similarly, in Bishnupur Rural Municipality, Nepali Congress Lilambar Yadav has been elected as the chairman with 2124 votes as his closest competitor Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Munilal Khank received 1650 votes.

Likewise, Nepali Congress candidate Jangiradevi Yadav was elected as the vice chairman as she received 2018 votes to Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Usha Devi Sah bagged 1480 votes.

In Belhi Chapena Rural Municipality, Nepali Congress Parmananda Yadav clinched the chairman with 3545 votes. NC's Usha Devi Mandal won the vice chair with 3455 votes.

In Daknaswari Municipality, RJPN candidates have been elected as mayor and deputy mayor.

Shiva Narayan Sah bagged 3880 votes as his nearest rival NC Narayan Yadav collected 3549 votes. Likewise, Indu Kumari Yadav bagged 3856 votes to his closest rival NC Raj Kumari Pandit mustered 3509 votes.

It has been learned that NC is taking lead in Khadak Municipality, Kanchanrup Municipality, Krishnasarwan Rural Municipality, Koiladi Tiladi Rural Municipality in the district.

Federal Socialist Forum Nepal is taking lead in Bedersain Municipality, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality, Balan Bihul Rural Municipality, Tirhut Rural Municipality and Mahadeva Rural Municipality.

UML is also leading Surunga and Sambhunath Municipality, RJPN is leading in Rupani and Naya Shakit Nepal Party is leading in Chinamasta Rural Municipalities.

The vote counting in all 17 municipalities is underway, according to District Election office.
