UML discussion on Nepal report continues

Kathmandu, August 14 :

The 12th central committee meeting of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) continued on the tenth day today.

The meeting saw the central committee members expressing views on a political report presented by party general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal.

A statement issued by office secretary Kashinath Adhikari said all the 65 members of the central body expressed views on Nepal’s political report today. Central committee members, including Shankar Pokharel, Sahana Pradhan, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Amrit Kumar

Bohara and Rajendra Pandey, aired their views on the report.

Nepal is expected to furnish replies to the queries raised by the party members tomorrow.

The statement said that most of the members said that the senior leaders should follow the party policy while making speeches in the public; they should be free from group politics and the party rank and file must be mobilised in favour of a democratic republic during elections to a constituent assembly.

Minister of Local Development and UML central committee member, Ranjendra Pandey, is learnt to have said that the party must give regular guidance to those in the government and pledged better performance in their respective ministries.

Another central committee member Surendra Pandey said that the meeting has been focusing, among other things, on interim statute, modality of interim government and interim legislature and process of the constituent assembly election.
