UML to have full-time cadres
Nepalgunj, June 8:
CPN-UML leader Bamdev Gautam today said the party was all set to convert its district committee members to full-time party cadres.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Press Chautari-Banke today, he said all district committee members would now be full-time members and whoever cannot be full-time members shall be given other responsibilities.
Gautam, who is also in charge of the the mid-western region, said the move would begin from his region itself.
He also said it was more important for the party to draft a new constitution than to exhibit hunger for power at the moment.
He said the UML was also equally capable to claim the post of president and that the party’s presidential candidate will be decided after intra-party talks.
He also informed that the UML has started a campaign to transform its youth wing, Democratic National Youth Organisation, into a force of combatants, who will not work like the YCL, but would work to fight against ill practices in the society. He said he took the charge of the mid-western region after the party’s shocking defeat in the CA polls. “I am committed to bring the party to majority in this region in the next election,” he said.
