KATHMANDU: CPN-UML candidates Lalmani Chaudhary and Sunita Thapa Kharel have been elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Khairahani Municipality in Chitwan district.

Lalmani Chaudhary collected 10, 717 votes while Nepali Congress Rajendra Chaudhary garnered 9,733 votes. Lalmani edged 984 votes.

Similarly, Sunita Thapa Kharel emerged victorious in deputy mayoral post with 10,451 votes.

Likewise, CPN-UML candidates were victorious in ward number 1,6,7,8,9,10 and 11 while Nepali Congress secured victory in ward number 2, 3, 4, 12 and 13 in the Municipality.
