Undocumented Russian national held in Pokhara
POKHARA: A Russian national staying illegally in Nepal has been arrested from Pokhara, on Monday, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the Tourist Police Office, Pokhara, apprehended undocumented Russian citizen Nickolay Olegovich Voronov from Khahare in Pokhara-6 yesterday.
Subsequently, police handed over Voronov to Immigration Office in Pokhara and from there he was transferred to the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu for further investigation and action.
Despite staying illegally in Nepal, Voronov had been selling traditional necklace locally known as mala, curios and other items around Lakeside area in the Lake City, police further informed.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the case is underway.
