UNESCO provides funds for eight programmes

Kathmandu:

The Nepal National Commission for UNESCO has decided to allocate $128,000 to various individuals and organisations to conduct several programmes this year. Satya Bahadur Shre-stha, secretary general of the commission said that the programmes have been selected after discussion in the subject committees and were approved by the central office in Paris. Some of the programmes awarded with the funds include Women Empowerment Programme, Intensive Training Course on Financial Management of Education for South Asian Countries, Role of Women in Eradication HIV/ AIDS in Nepal, Radio Programme on Renewable Energy among others.
