Unidentified group torch ward office in Doti
DHANGADHI: An unidentified group has set ablaze the office of Shikar Municipality-7 in Doti on Saturday night.
According to police, the perpetrators torched the ward office at around midnight destroying the office including documents and furniture housed inside.
Police after the preliminary investigation suspects the arsonists might have been the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), informed Chief of Dipayal Area Police Office, Sub Inspector of Police Kamalapati Panta.
The fire was extinguished the next morning with the help of police and locals, police said.
Earlier, CPN cadres had reportedly torched ward offices of Badhikedar Rural Municipality-4 and Jorayal Rural Municipality-4 in the district.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
