An unmarried woman who was found with her dead baby is reported to be under care in district hospital of Ilam under the police care.

Twenty-two year Sangita Rai who used to live at ward no 7 of Ilam municipality was found on Saturday morning near Dhobidhara in critical condition with her just born dead baby.

Nebra Jung Thapa, Senior Superintendent Police of the district said that the young woman is being cured under the vigilance of police and added that she is under the investigation since she has given birth to a baby before marriage.

He further noted that the investigation would be continued after her recovery -keeping her in the police custody.

The post mortem of the baby has been performed on Saturday while the young woman has said that Man Bahadur Tamang, a policeman, is the father of the dead child. Tamang has already passed away.
