Upcoming convention to judge Nepali Congress leaders, says Sitaula

BHIMDUTTANAGAR: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitauala said his party's upcoming 13th national general convention would evaluate leaders' contribution to the party.

Addressing a programme organised by the Durgadutta Joshi Memorial Trust at the NC party office here today, leader Sitaula called on party cadres to critically judge the performance of leaders in the upcoming party gala and send them to the leadership based on the same merit.

"Now the time has come for evaluating the performance of party leaders," he said, urging the party cadres to use their self-conscience while choosing the new leadership through the convention.

He further went on saying that the NC for being the oldest and largest party should take initiative to address the problems of border blockade and Tarai agitation facing the country. Besides, the party role was crucial to end the problems being faced by the earthquake survivors, he added.

Sitaula said Kailali and Kanchanpur districts would remain in the Province No. 7 in the federal set-up.

People of other areas were not supposed to determine the place of these districts in the federal set-up and the districts were placed in this province respecting interests of the locals, he claimed
