Yadav slams FA’s move to oust him
Kathmandu, May 7
The Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal’s Coordinator Upendra Yadav today said that the Federal Alliance’s decision to purge him from leadership was against the spirit, sentiment and code of conduct of the alliance.
He said that the news published in the mass media about him being ousted from the FA coordinator’s post was not an official decision, but the personal decision of some alliance leaders.
“The press release issued by Mahantha Thakur was part of his fraudulent political game and also political dishonesty and a condemnable act,” reads the statement issued by yadav. He said that the meeting, held without giving information to the coordinator, Spokesperson Om Gurung and majority of its members could not be an official meeting of the FA. “Such betrayal and internal-betrayal are not only shameful but also condemnable,” Yadav said.
A meeting of the FA held yesterday purged Yadav from its leadership, as Yadav-led FSFN decided to take part in the local level elections before the constitution amendment and chose Mahantha Thakur of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal as it’s new coordinator.
Yadav said that his party-FSFN had neither surrendered nor betrayed any of the marginalised and oppressed people. He urged FA leaders not to get confused by the so-called press release and engage in discussion for future planning. He also directed his party’s rank and file to expose the rumours spread against him and the party.
A meeting chaired by Thakur held yesterday at the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal’s central office in Kathmandu concluded that Yadav had ‘surrendered and betrayed’ the issues of Madhesi, Tharu, Aadivasi Janajanti, Dalit, Muslim and other downtrodden communities by taking part in local level elections.
