Urban health centre offering quality health service in Rajbiraj

Rajbiraj, August 2

Rajbiraj Municipality Ward No 7-based Urban Health Centre has been providing quality healthcare services at an affordable cost to locals of Saptari.

The urban health centre was established six years ago targeting the poor and the needy who could not afford quality care in private hospitals. The health centre offers pregnancy test, vaccination, family planning, nutrition, OPD and health-related counselling services, among others.

Senior Assistant Health Worker Dinesh Prasad Sah at the health centre said the number of patients was increasing day by day as the facility used modern equipment for diagnosis and treatment of patients.

According to him, as many as 5,700 children received vaccination service and 793 women availed pregnancy test service from the health centre in the fiscal 2074/75.

Assistant Health Worker Santosh Kumar Das at the same health facility said the health centre extended services to patients from neighbouring wards as well as border areas.

As per Das, pregnancy test service was managed at the health centre even if Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital has operated safe motherhood programme. He said pregnancy test, vaccination and nutrition, among other services, were provided through separate cabins. “The health centre was also providing different medicines free of charge to patients,” he added.

The service seekers said they were content with standard care provided at the health centre.

Meanwhile, ward chair Magilal Nai said service seekers were satisfied with services offered at the urban health centre despite the presence of Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital and other private healthcare facilities in Rajbiraj. “It is all about dedication and hard work of health workers,” he added.
